Jack The Bag

Fredericksburg, VA based Jack The Bag is a rock and blues trio. Formed in 2013, Jack The Bag delivers a high energy performance and provides a unique take on favorite rock and blues standards. With years of combined musical experience the trio line up provides the perfect format for the delivery of their raw style.

Brent Light, singer and guitar player, has been performing since the 1980s, singing in several local rock and metal bands in his hometown of Missouri. He later played with numerous rock-and-blues bands in the San Francisco Bay area. Light has had the opportunity to perform with several big-name bands, including Collective Soul at the Hard Rock Café in Atlanta, Ga., in 2012. With a talent for many instruments -- bass, guitar and mandolin -- Light has a wide vocal range that allows him to sing soulful jams and all-out rock songs.

Jack the Bag’s drummer, Dave Koenigsberg, taught himself to play the drums at age 12. Influenced by John Bonham, Neil Peart and Steve Gadd, he played in a rock-and-metal bands throughout high school. He organized a local rock-and-roll band that performed in bars throughout Fredericksburg and Prince William and Fairfax counties.

Neil Mullanaphy has played bass guitar in rock-and-roll and blues-rock bands for 34 years. In “Fair Warning,” he performed at clubs and colleges throughout New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia. Fair Warning’s faithful following and popularity led to residencies as the “house band” at several Jersey Shore clubs. Mullanaphy later formed Code Blue, a predominately blues band that performed at a variety of events and fundraisers. When Mullanaphy moved to Las Vegas in 2002, he and a group of coworkers formed Hundred Weight. In a city rich in talent, Hundred Weight had a heavy performance schedule. The band members headlined the American Heart Association Walk at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Campus, for 6,000 attendees. Hundred Weight performed at Las Vegas’ Annual Santa Run for nearly 10,000 people. The event was documented on the Travel Channel, where the band is featured playing on the Freemont Street Experience stage.
